SOCIAL WORK
Comunidade Hindu de Portugal promotes and participates in various social and philanthropic actions.
These are some of the most relevant actions in recent years.
Volunteers Platform
A project funded by FAMI that aims
to connect people who are available
and interested in volunteering
with those who, in the first phase of adapting to our country, need help in a wide variety of areas.
'Ann Dan Maha Dan'
Food Donation
Every month CHP collects goods to support
those in need.
This initiative has as partners
Junta de Freguesia do Lumiar and
CASA (Centro de Apoio ao Sem-Abrigo).
Teaching Portuguese to Foreigners
Project started in 2021, Teaching Portuguese for Foreigners aims to support the integration of migrants through training, offering the opportunity to take
the first essential step towards a good adaptation,
which is knowledge of the language.
Mastering the language brings the possibility of
making yourself known and expressing yourself,
of being able to understand and stay informed,
and fundamentally the opportunity to develop professionally.
With the support of IEFP and Centro Qualifica - Agrupamento de Escolas do Algueirão, we guarantee the certification of students.
This is an initiative in constant development and expansion, and open to all migrants of all nationalities.
Service Center of AIMA
at the CHP premises
Comunidade Hindu de Portugal, as a Private Institution of Social Solidarity and Public Utility aims, among other things, to promote activities within the scope of support for social and community integration and support for immigrants.

It is in this context, and following our previous involvement in the organization of the concerted action to combat the Pandemic, providing our facilities for the formation of the Vaccination Center, that we have once again made ourselves available to continue collaborating with the Public Administration in carrying out such an important mission and in everyone's interest.
Sustainability
Comunidade Hindu de Portugal has sustainability as one of its guiding pillars for a future of progress, innovation and unity. Thus, we established a partnership with EDP Comercial, which resulted in the installation of a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption in October 2021, producing 104.7 MWh/year of solar energy and reducing energy consumption by around 40%.
